Vision Statement: In an era where historical narratives are increasingly contested, our vision is to safeguard and uphold the true legacy of Sri Jayateertha, the esteemed propagator of Madhwa philosophy. We are dedicated to preserving the authentic history of over 600 years, as recognized by revered Madhwa mathas such as Uttaradi Matha, Raghavendra Swami Matha, Vyasaraja Matha, and the Udupi Mathas.

We lost the Ayodhya Ram Mandir to invaders 500 years ago, but we managed to revive it because we never forgot its significance and we were not ignorant about it, even after centuries.  So why are we now turning a blind eye? As a community, we risk losing 600 years of history, and we must take a stand against this grave injustice in every possible way.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive and transparent repository of documents and historical evidence that corroborate Sri Jayateertha’s significant contributions and his association with Malakhed. By uniting scholarly resources and collaborative insights, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of Madhwa philosophy and ensure that the truth remains untainted by distorted narratives. Join us in our commitment to historical accuracy and the celebration of Sri Jayateertha’s enduring legacy.

Shri Jayateertha is revered as an incarnation of Indra, imbued with the presence of Shesha and blessed by Goddess Durga (Shri Mahalaxmi) with a writing instrument and a piece of areca nut. The former was given to write commentaries on Madhva’s original works on palm leaves, while the latter was meant to seal the writing and make it permanent.

Shri Vidyaranya, a scholar of unmatched caliber, was deeply impressed by the depth and breadth of Shri Jayateertha’s philosophical works. He marveled at Jayateertha’s stately and grand style, majestic diction, incisive logic, and his profound understanding of the hidden meanings within Madhva’s teachings. Shri Jayateertha’s formidable debating skills and his comprehensive knowledge of the literature from other philosophical schools also stood out. As a mark of his admiration for Shri Jayateertha’s scholarly brilliance and divine greatness, Shri Vidyaranya honored him by parading him on a richly adorned elephant in a grand procession. This gesture is a testament to the impartial and sincere recognition of the exceptional scholarship and spiritual excellence of both these revered saints.

Sri Jayateertha,  renounced worldly life at a very young age and dedicated himself to the widespread dissemination of Madhva’s philosophy. In a remarkably short period, he became a prodigy of learning—a living encyclopedia, a sharp-eyed logician, an impeccable writer, a supreme stylist, a dispassionate debater, a formidable dialectician, an unparalleled orator, a balanced critic, an outstanding poet, a leading philosopher, a saint of the highest order, a paragon of Karma-yoga, the epitome of pure devotion, an embodiment of renunciation, a profoundly mature mystic, and, ultimately, a superman among saints. These and many other grand titles capture the immense greatness of Shri Jayateertha, who is widely known as “Teekacharya” or “Teekakritpaada.”

His Holiness Shri Jayateertha served as the pontiff for 22 years and 7 months. His Brindavana is located at Malakhed, near that of his guru, Shri Akshobhya Teertha, on the banks of the Kagina River. Before his passing, he entrusted the leadership to his disciple, Shri Vidyadhiraja Teertha.
